throbbing gristle was, as one can imagine, really really great. sleazy wore a dalmation print robe. there's something about him. i think "discipline" was fucking amazing.
d. and i went to some karaoke bar afterwards. then we watched march of the penguins. no more big shows for awhile. what a weird spring i've been having......... |

i suddenly feel all perky. perhaps it was the beer i had with alli, who knows. today i had to go to some staff appreciation lunch. it was lame. the food wasn't good and i just sat there feeling dumb.
tomorrow is throbbing gristle! can't wait to see genesis in all his pandrogynous glory, or whatever he calls it.
i think i'm gonna go eat dinner and watch das boot. i <3 war movies. |

it's a spring of experimental/noise music for me. first the orbis nex thing, then nurse with wound last night, and next week is bohren & der club of gore, and april is throbbing gristle! weird that it's all happening around the same time.
i drove into the city last night to see NWW and found parking right around the block. that's truly amazing for the tenderloin. found beer, then found ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) simulacrum. briefly spoke with ravennoir, and later with skot. and i met some nice people. the show was really interesting, they had a film projected behind the band. in it, there were bloody entrail things gurgling out of walls, mattresses in a field jumping skyward, people fighting and eating underwater, and a woman sleeping soundly while a man set her bed on fire. i ended up leaving early because i think i'm getting a cold and felt really tired. either that or it's a really bad allergy attack, because it FEELS more like allergies, but i woke up all stuffy and weird.
today i had yet another cheddar vs. american cheese debacle! i asked for a breakfast sandwich with "cheddar not american" AND repeated myself, and i still got american. i asked some co-workers if this happens to them, but it's just me. i am stuck in a cheese-twilight-zone and no one can hear my cries of CHEDDAR. |

i've been posting this everywhere, but here it is for lj. babystrange thinks he needs a shot of whiskey too. i'll see what i can do.
i got soaked in the rain this morning. gee, that was fun. i have so many painting ideas i can't believe it. it's like i was held up for so long and now some floodgates are opening. i still need to get a light to put over my easel though, because the lighting in my apartment isn't so great for painting. must do that today. yep. nothing exciting to see here. i gave up on the leonard cohen tickets for my mom. i'll have to get her something else for her birthday. maybe i'll take her to a play-she really loved that the other couple times we did that for her birthday. speaking of birthdays, mine is soon and i'll be 31. 31 seems like such a lackluster number, but what do i know. |

in other news, i failed to get leonard cohen tickets for my mom and i. the only ones left were upper balcony and i wasn't sure if they were worth it. what's weird is, i tried at 10am and couldn't get presale tickets. i kept trying for ten minutes and nothing. then i tried in the afternoon for the hell of it, and that was all that was left. i guess i'll try again on the regular sale too.
i'm listening to jazz and trying to paint and do other random things around the house before the dreaded work tomorrow. i think i had too much coffee because i feel kind of queasy and on-edge. yep. i have so much to ebay and etsy but my camera kind of sucks and i can't get good photos of anything. i've never actually sold anything on etsy, but i plan to try. spring is a' comin and it's time to clear out the cobwebs. |

i got a bike!!!!!!!!! it's a scratched up black 1983 schwinn cruiser-PERFECT FOR ME. the lovely babystrange drove my down to sunnyvale to get it from this nice gentleman who let me test drive it on his driveway and lowered the seat for me. i haven't ridden a bike in ages, nor had any sort of transportation other than my feet or the bus so i am very excited! i want black streamer-thingies and a basket. i need a lock though.
then i took alli to pasta pomodoro for her trouble and now i am stuffed. we had a weezer/john cougar mellancamp sing-along in the car on the way home. yeah. also stone temple pilots and nirvana came on the radio...nineties all the way.

i still can't believe lux interior died. i am in such denial and i'm listening to the cramps non-stop since last night, which is making me simultaneously happy and sad. i thought of an art piece to do in his honor, now that i'm actually trying to do assemblages, so maybe i will do it. i think i saw the cramps live more than any other band (not local, ok and i might've seen bauhaus more.) but yeah, they were with me through a lot and remind me of so many times, from my teenage years till now. i'm so glad i bought that cramps album on a whim in high school......
lux and ivy were one of my Favorite Couples Ever. it's so sad. |

happy 36th anniversary of roe v. wade day!!! obama is expected to overturn the global gag rule today! thx mr. obama.
in other news, and i hate to say this, but LOST didn't wow me as much as i thought it would last night :X ok the first episode did, but i fell asleep(!) partly through the second one. i WAS really tired, i'm not saying it was boring, just seemed to be lacking a little...something. but it was still good! dodge, alli, stephanie and i got together to watch it, and ate cheese and crackers (edam and pepper jack.) i had no idea there were 2 episodes-both alli and i fell asleep for awhile, actually.
i've been trying to get paintings done, instead of just started and i finished one! i have 2 other started but i think i may abandon them. eeeh i am not good at committing to these things. last weekend i went to flax and got a bigger canvas for an idea i have. for awhile i've been doing really small canvasses and i think i want to go bigger. that's what they kept telling me to do in college.
ravennoir said that throbbing gristle may be playing sf this coming year, which of course, i would love to go to! i am going to see nurse with wound in march and bohren & der club of gore, the second with whirlingdervish on april fool's day. i cannot wait for spring/summer. lots of good concerts and daylight till 9pm and warm weather...it cannot come soon enough, i've had enough S.A.D. |

i just wanted to express my love for my egg n' muffin.
it toasts an english muffin and poaches an egg at the same time. when it's done, i plop the egg on the english muffin, add some cheddar cheese and tomato, and voila, tasty breakfast sandwich. |

if i'm feeling REALLY down, i lose my appetite and lose like 10 pounds. comfort foods though...mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, pizza. unhealthy, carby stuff. |

every year at work, this ex-client sends a box full of random things to our office for xmas. i think he owns a toy company. this year there were teletubby keychains, cheap ugly hairclips, du-rags, bad cheap sunglasses, dragon ball-z magnets of some sort and these:
not only is it totally inappropriate that he sent it, it's the best thing he's ever sent in the time i've worked there. i opened the box and snagged them right away. |
